The VTK dumps obtained from LIGGGHTS can be opened easily in ParaView, but then the particles are not of the correct size/shape, just points.
- Setting which variables correspond to the right attributes has to be set manually by clicking on the imported data then in properties
- When we need something more specific, filters have to be applied:
- Select the dump
- Click filters
- Add the right filter
- (For showing the orientation or velocity of the particles, Glyph is recommended)
- If we really need something that is not part of the software, we need to write a custom programmed filter in python. A good source here could be this.
